We are looking for a Project Manager to support transitional projects within the team.

Who You Are

  • Minimum of 7+ years of Project Management experience on IT infrastructure engagements.
  • Experience in the public sector would be an asset.
  • Strong technical skills that would complement the role as a PM.
  • Demonstrated ability to be collaborative with various stakeholders while keeping CGI interests as their primary focus.

Your future duties and responsibilities

As a Project Manager on our team, you will be working on multiple engagements of various sizes. This role will require strong communication and interaction with both internal and external clients.

  • Leading cross function teams across multiple concurrent initiatives of various scales.
  • Work collaboratively with the management teams in GTO and GTA in both the Transition and Project Portfolio Programs.
  • Plan, manage, and report weekly on the status of engagements.
  • Participate in daily scrums for the Transition and Project Portfolio.
  • Ensure standard CGI PM processes for resource, risk and change management are applied across all projects.
  • Perform risk assessment to ensure project risks are identified and mitigated appropriately.
  • Confidently coordinate the communication and escalation of issues both internally and externally.
  • Manage project documentation , status reports, client/stakeholder communications.

Essential Qualifications

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration/Project Management.
  • Certification: Project Management institute (PMI) is preferred.
  • Project Management experience with varying scales of Infrastructure engagements.
  • Solid understanding of Project financials (i.e. Budget, Forecast, Actual tracking etc)
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and conduct presentation to leadership teams.
  • Strong background in risk management and mitigation.

Desired Qualifications

  • Independent worker that requires little supervision beyond initial scope expectation and transfer of requirement.
  • Knowledge of security, network, infrastructure experience and workflow would be an asset
  • Familiarity of managing Vendor to Vendor/Vendor to Client transitions.

Position Summary

Under the direction and mentorship of the Director, Corporate RE & Facilities Management, the Facilities Design Project Manager will:

  • Provide project management, strategic planning, and interior design services for all PointClickCare premises.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on all matters relating to interior design. Work with and consult with PointClickCare’s Facilities Director on special projects and coordinate facilities project team members and IT partners to facilitate/implement projects.
  • Occasional travel to regional offices to conduct site inspections and construction projects and perform related design work.
  • Ensure all PointClickCare premises are designed and constructed in accordance with applicable codes, acts and life safety regulations to provide a healthy and safe workplace for all staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project management for assigned facilities projects, which may include multiple projects simultaneously and vary in scope and phases of completion, while ensuring that PointClickCare leads the industry in being the healthiest and safest workplace by:
  • developing business cases, project plans (including providing rationale for proceeding with projects along with anticipated scope and impacts), schedule resources, timelines and budgets for facilities relocation and renovation projects including implementation schedules, ongoing monitoring and management of project status and budget ensuring client requirements, strategic objectives, corporate standards and policies are met;
  • adjusting plans and schedules to meet changing priorities and timeframes; including planning for contingencies and managing unforeseen circumstances such as strikes by trades, unavailability of materials, etc. and reprioritize work as required.
  • leading multi-disciplinary project teams, including internal and external consultants, contractors, voice/data analysts, security and external vendors.
  • supervising work activities, reviewing and evaluating performance of external consultants (such as general contractor, interior design, electrical and mechanical consultants) to ensure PointClickCare standards and applicable codes are adhered to and project goals are met.
  • conducting post-implementation work quality and performance reviews of completed projects to identify and resolve deficiencies.
  • analyzing documented project costs to establish benchmarks for budgeting purposes, including preparing high level cost estimating templates and preparing project cost estimates for senior management approval.
  • introduce new design concepts in response to the changing market and new technologies and company image.
  • Act as subject matter expert on interior design for new buildouts and renovation projects, provide planning and design services using AutoCAD as well as advice and technical consultation to peers. These services include:
  • feasibility studies, needs analysis, programming and design concepts.
  • reviewing all architectural and consulting engineering drawings and specifications for tender and permits; ensuring all documents
  • required for permits or approval by authorities having jurisdiction are signed and stamped by design professionals as required.
  • liaising with building code consultant as required.
  • maintaining computerized records of architectural drawings and associated documentation for all PointClickCare premises as required by the Ministry of Labour (MOL), local building, fire departments, building landlords and for internal use, such as reference for leases, business continuity plan, insurance purposes, etc.
  • developing and maintaining lifecycle furniture replacement program for all PointClickCare furniture assets.
  • managing capital budget for all PointClickCare furniture purchases.
  • specifying & cataloging furniture and finishes.
  • developing and maintaining space, furniture (incorporating current ergonomic recommendations) and construction standards in order to promote employee well-being and the prevention/reduction of injuries in the workplace.
  • developing and maintaining facilities specific procedures and guidelines
  • assisting Corporate Ergonomist in the development of Health and Safety Standards
  • Research industry trends, new construction materials and products, and best practices in facilities management and interior design to determine if new concepts can be successfully applied to benefit PointClickCare.

Requirements

  • University or College degree with a specialty focus in Interior Design, or Architectural Technology or relevant subjects
  • Demonstrated career progression and job related experience
  • Self-starter, willing to learn, able to work independently
  • Demonstrated facilities management experience in a large business
  • Superior decision‐making capacity
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications
  • Proven experience in resolving conflict
  • Demonstrated commitment to superior customer service excellence with a solution-oriented focus and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support the work of others
