Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Geology, Engineering, or related field with + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Due to the nature of the work U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional License (PE, PG)
  • 10+ years’ experience in environmental remediation (soil, water, sediment, PFAS, munitions) project management
  • Master’s degree in Geology, Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or related degree
  • Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations
  • Experience successfully managing environmental projects for Federal clients (USACE, AFCEC)
  • Thorough working knowledge of RCRA and CERCLA
  • Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery
  • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders
  • Have led teams of professionals in executing Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Risk Assessment, and Treatability Studies in support of Federal environmental projects
  • Occasional overnight travel required
  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The midpoint of the salary range is $128,485 annually.

POWER Engineers’ Environmental Division provides planning, permitting, engineering, site assessment, and corrective action services to clients worldwide. We are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager, Siting & Routing Specialist for full-time employment in support of our Central Environmental Services Project Management and Planning Group. Roles And Responsibilities

The primary focus for this Project Manager, Siting & Routing Specialist will be on transmission line and substation routing and siting in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic states. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and responsive professional, with strong communication and organizational skills. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams which could include engineers, attorneys, planners, permitting and environmental specialists, and real estate experts
  • Performing routing/siting studies and analyses and preparing associated reports
  • Preparing and monitoring project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Providing advice and direction on state filing requirements
  • Preparing PUC, SCC, and/or OPSB applications
  • Up to 30% travel is expected

Required Education/Experience

  • B.S. or B.A. in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related degree
  • Twelve (12) + years performing routing and siting studies and preparing siting documents and state applications
  • Midwest and Mid-Atlantic expertise in siting/routing, environmental planning, and analysis, state applications, public involvement, technical writing in electric transmission lines and substations
  • Extensive knowledge and demonstrated expertise in federal and state environmental policy and regulation is required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, defining and understanding client requirements, managing expectations, communicating with clients and project staff

Desired Education/Experience:

  • Experience preparing applications for submittal to the Virginia State Corporate Commission (SCC), Kentucky Public Utilities Commission (PUC), and Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) is highly desirable
  • Experience preparing and providing expert witness testimony
  • Expertise and understanding of permitting requirements in IN, MI, OH, WV, VA, and KY

Job Summary

Reports to the Manager of New Product Development Program Management :

The incumbent of this highly visible role will work closely with all business functions involved in New Product Development (NPD) and Innovation. The NPD Project Manager will work closely with the NPD Program Manager for the Industrial Mixing Portfolio, supporting him/her in the successful execution of the NPD portfolio. He/she will take ownership of NPD projects within one or more product lines and will ensure projects are properly planned and executed on time, on quality and on cost.

Critical to the success of this role will be the partnership and collaboration across the organization, on various levels, to ensure alignment and commitment with all SPX FLOW operating plans. In addition to that, the successful candidate will lead change while improving the agility, efficiency, and sustainability of the SPX FLOW operating model.

The NPD Project Manager is responsible for providing project leadership for assigned NPD projects, manage schedule and funding to assure timely completion of gate deliverables consistent with product strategy, quality, safety, and performance. An individual that would fit this role must possess strong communication, leadership, technical skills, and the ability to use problem-solving techniques to properly identify, resolve and document issues related to cross-functional project management. This person will also focus on sustained and long-term continuous improvement that consistently produces improved results while achieving high performance standards.

The successful candidate will have the capability and drive to grow into a bigger role within the NPD Program Management organization.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Ownership of NPD Projects within one or more Product Lines / Product Categories.
  • Ensures NPD Resources, Tools, Knowledge and Project Management are in place to meet NPD Project objectives.
  • Assures timely completion of deliverables consistent with product strategy, product specification, quality, safety, performance, and the NPD process.
  • Works closely with the NPD Program Manager to establish clearly specified NPD objectives, in line with the Product Line Strategy.
  • Defines program Stage-Gate deliverables, funding, and resource loading for various NPD projects to meet Product Line Vitality objectives.
  • Manages execution per the project schedule by leading Project Teams and facilitating the communication / interaction amongst the functional representatives.
  • Ensures all product stakeholders are represented in the NPD process.
  • Manages projects directly to meet Stage-Gate milestones and deliverables.
  • Works closely with resource owners in engineering, operations, and commercial functions for proper and timely staffing of projects.
  • Ensures Value Engineering and Design for Manufacturing principles are appropriately applied during projects.
  • Tracks progress of all his/hers NPD projects in program against schedule, cost and specification, and implements immediate corrective actions where needed.
  • Trains and educates the members of the SPX community on the New Product Development process

Project Planning Manager (Planner / Scheduler)

Working in close collaboration with the Project Manager (PM), owner of time management matters within the project team, providing proper time management information to support decisions making to reach expected OTD (On Time Delivery) performance of the project (during bid/tender, contract, or program execution)

Responsible to develop and maintain the project/program schedule using best practices such as but not limited to: Reflect the project execution strategy in the schedule, capture the entire scope of work, set reasonable activity durations, logically sequence and link all activities, keep date constraints to a minimum and never as a hard constraint, avoid dangling activities, check the critical path makes sense, assign resources to all activities, check the schedule contains reasonable float, verify the resource plan, run a schedule risk analysis, set schedule baseline.

  • Analyze the schedule management requirements of the Customer (contractual tool, schedule structure, reporting constraints…),
  • Define tender preparation schedule and monitor until the submission of the tender,
  • Detail the tender schedule based on Reference Library templates, gap analysis, Métiers commitments, and PXO (Project Métiers organization such as PIO / Project Industrial Organization) tender strategy
  • Highlight the critical path and risks linked to the project schedule and propose the optimization & mitigation actions,
