POWER Engineers’ Environmental Division provides planning, permitting, engineering, site assessment and corrective action services to clients worldwide. Across multiple industries, our diverse staff specialize in the areas of air, water, waste, ecological and cultural resources throughout our 45 offices located across the country and internationally.

We are seeking a highly motivated Transmission Siting and Permitting Project Manager in New York state for full-time employment in support of our Eastern Environmental Services Project Management Department. The selected candidate would join a team of more than 230 environmental professionals across the U.S. This position may be based on our Syracuse, NY or Rochester, NY office.

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsibilities Include But May Not Be Limited To

The primary focus for this Transmission Siting and Permitting Project Manager will be on electric transmission line and substation routing and siting, along with renewable energy development projects in New York and adjacent states. The ideal candidate will have an established and successful history of experience in State of New York, and will be a collaborative and responsive professional with strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Managing multiple projects at various stages and locations
  • Leading project teams for key clients
  • Leading business development efforts - develop/maintain client relationships and lead proposal preparation
  • Developing strategy for public involvement programs; attend and participate in open-houses, public meetings, and public hearings
  • Serving as a siting and environmental permitting subject matter expert
  • Managing and directing routing/siting studies, analyses and associated reports
  • Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams which could include engineers, attorneys, planners, permitting and environmental specialists, and real estate experts
  • Preparing and monitoring project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Supervising and mentoring staff
  • Up to 30% travel is expected

Required Education/Experience

  • BS or BA in Environmental Studies, Natural Sciences or Ecology, Environmental Planning, Landscape Architecture, Geography, Environmental Science, or related degree
  • Ten (10) + years’ experience managing environmental permitting and planning projects, for a variety of energy related projects
  • Proven Article VII and EM&CP experience, including management of Article VII and EM&CP filings
  • Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with New York State agency personnel and decision makers, including the NYSDEC
  • Demonstrated work experience with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District
  • Experience in preparing proposals and presentations, and price structuring
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, defining and understanding client requirements, managing expectations, and communicating with clients and project staff

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Studies, Natural Sciences or Ecology, Environmental Planning, Landscape Architecture, Geography, Environmental Science, or related degree
  • Project Management Professional certification; other professional certifications as applicable to technical expertise
  • Contract negotiations and management
  • Experience preparing and providing expert witness testimony

Job Summary

Commercial planning Manager for the contact lens portfolio (1 day/Frequent Replacement products). Includes both Branded and Customer Brand products across Corporate Account customers.

Focus Areas Include

    • Product name and packaging
    • Demand and Financial forecasting
    • Regulatory and Global Supply Chain approval
    • Product set up
    • Component procurement and product build
    • Professional Services support
    • Marketing Communications plan (pre, launch, post launch)
    • Sales Training
    • Execution planning and monitoring metrics
  • Ongoing product forecasting for revenue product, pricing, fit sets and product rationalization. Develops tools to support identification of incremental impact and cannibalization of new product introductions
  • Promotion development
    • Lead cross functional evaluation, alignment and approval
    • Ensure program implementation set-up
    • Set up tracking/analysis
  • Product rationalization
  • Price changes, including changes in list price, floor price and/or promotion price
  • Organizes project team and leads project kick-off meeting. Provides project overview, establishes standing meeting schedule, identifies project meeting actions and owners
  • Facilitates cross-functional meetings with each functional area reviewing their plans, questions and risks to the project. Develops and manages project timeline. Provides updates to timelines to review progress and manage risks

Job Family Responsibilities

Facilitates the execution of project/program solution plan for projects or programs. Responsible for understanding the project plan and guiding team to complete projects. Supports the project/program management role (definition of schedule, budget, risk, change, opportunity and resource allocation management) for projects. Acts as a functional or business process resource on projects. Supports execution of continuous improvement plans. Provide and active support role in maintaining client relationships and sales opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Education

What We Are Looking For

Typically Bachelors Degree or advanced degree. Preferred to possess PMP certification or obtain within 12 months of hire.

Knowledge And Experience

Demonstrates and applies broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managed work group(s) and how it supports related operations.

Demonstrates understanding and application of supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action.

Typically 5-8 years of successful experience in a related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.

Direction Of Others

Typically manages non-exempt administrative or technical employees, and/or lower level exempt employees.

Key Working Relationships

Primarily intra-organizational contacts and external contacts. Core responsibility for excellence in communication and establishing good customer relationships over the life cycle of projects.
