The Boeing Global Services' C-17 team is searching for Program Manager- C-17 R&O and Obsolescence situated in Long Beach, CA - USA.

The successful candidate will lead and manage overall performance of the following elements among the C-17 Program Portfolio:

  • Propulsion Program and Engine Performance Recovery Initiative
  • Landing Gear Overhaul Program and Rotables Acquisition
  • Obsolescence Program and new Project Acquisition
  • Other projects as assigned

Demonstrates The Following Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and its application.
  • Knowledge of organizational development dynamics/principles
  • Knowledge and understanding of the methodology and processes associated with risk management, opportunity management, and issues management.
  • Knowledge of schedule management principles and practices.



  • Manages employees performing business management activities in the area of Program Management. Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Establishes Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) program goals and establishes a PMBP improvement plan. Manages, develops and motivates employees.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • 5+ years of experience with Program Management Best Practices including Base Line Management, Risk/Issue/Opportunity Management, Performance Metrics, Customer Communications, Requirements Management, Supplier Management, and/or Earned Value Management
  • Experience in leading programs / projects in proposal, contracting and execution phases
  • Experience leading teams and interfacing with customers

  • Experience leading direct and matrix teams
  • Experience in all facets of proposal, contracting and execution
  • Ability to lead in fast paced environment
  • Very strong communication skills
