Project Manager, Associate Growth

We are looking for an Employee Growth & Development Manager to join our Retail & Direct Technology (RDT) team. This important role will develop, implement, and support associate growth programming across the organization, and will enable, empower, and facilitate learning, development, and growth for all RDT associates. You’ll be part of an experienced and diverse Culture & Communications team and have the opportunity to partner closely with technology teams, leadership, and associates across RDT and Capital One. A successful candidate will be excited about doing whatever it takes to support and enable coworkers to unlock their full potential. This person will report to the Director of Culture & Communications.

Responsibilities

Onboarding

  • Work with partners across the organization to build and support a best-in-class new hire onboarding and engagement strategy for new RDT associates, leveraging existing tech programs and resources.
  • Deliver a smooth, effective, and welcoming experience that provides new hires with the tools and skills to ensure their success.
  • Partner with Campus Workforce Team to support intern and campus onboarding programs.
  • Document steps for all People Leaders to increase automation opportunities and assist teams in outlining department-specific onboarding supplemental programming.

Certification & Trainings

  • Lead certification initiatives, including AWS and CSSE, developing communication campaigns, programming, and supporting resources and collateral.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Enterprise and Tech Learning & Development teams to adopt best practices.
  • Support DIB training opportunities in partnership with our Tech and Enterprise teams, increasing engagement and adoption among the team while incorporating learnings within team norms.

People Leadership Support

  • Own People Leadership strategy across the organization, with an emphasis on enablement.
  • Support People Leadership training and support programs, leveraging internal tools and trainings.
  • Create and foster a People Leadership community within RDT, empowering People Leaders to unlock the potential of their associates.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Mentorship Program: Build and launch a mentorship program across the organization to serve associates and invest in their growth.
  • Conference Allocation & Promotion: Own conference attendance within the organization, ensuring associates are aware of opportunities and provide support with selection and attendance.
  • Communications Support: Develop and deploy communication campaigns to support learning and development efforts across the organization. Drafting emails, blog posts, and resources to support programs, including designing Google slide presentations.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • A deep understanding and passion for talent development and experience building programs to support adult learning and employee growth.
  • A proven track record of developing successful learning and development programs and campaigns, including ownership of onboarding, workshops, and People Leadership support.
  • The ability to present complex subject matter in a clear, concise and compelling manner, with strong presentation development skills. Comfort and experience with designing and developing Google Slides.
  • Experience working effectively with multiple constituents, including peers and executive management, comfort interfacing with executives one on one and in large settings.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in Learning and Development or Employee Engagement
  • At least 3 years of experience with project management

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in Learning and Development or Employee Engagement
  • 4+ years of experience with project management
  • 2+ years of experience working in a technology company or working closely with a technology team
  • 2+ year of communication and event management experience
  • 2+ years of experience with Google Suite
  • 1+ year of experience with Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging initiatives

The Enterprise Brand team is responsible for positioning and differentiating the Capital One brand and empowering teams across the enterprise to deliver a cohesive and powerful brand experience – to our associates, customers, prospects and the community at large. The project manager position will manage the development process of campaigns, activations, and additional projects throughout the year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead creative projects through intake and delivery, including resource assignment, project planning, developing schedules and task management using WorkFront.
  • Develop and execute project plans and manage executive of work to be delivered on time
  • Conduct and lead project meetings with creative teams, responsible for project documentation and tracking.
  • Proactively identify potential risks, plan contingencies, facilitate scope changes, build solutions to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Identify and provide solutions to gaps as needed for project success.
  • Act as a liaison between Creative team and Marketing business partners, strategy leads, and stakeholders alike.
  • Adhere to department/audit policies, procedures, and expectations while managing scope, schedule, resources, and budget to deliver high quality results.
  • Work on small, medium, and large scale creative projects that have a direct impact on the company.
  • Work with lead Project Manager to identify and solve opportunities to improve and streamline process and project management practices.
  • Communicate effectively with associates of all levels and build relationships that will allow for collaboration and open dialogue through difficult conversations.

  • Ability to self-manage and escalate potential roadblocks with confidence
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional analytical and problem solving skills

  • At least 3 years of experience managing in-house creative teams, marketing, or agency experience

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate as member of the PMO working with cross functional teams to assess, communicate, and implement improvements

  • Tools used include Google suite, Jira, Confluence, and Mural to manage the schedule, scope, risks and issues tracking and reporting for the project. For process management we utilize Visio, Google suite, Confluence, and other Capital One systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
  • At least 3 year of experience with Microsoft Office or G Suite
  • At least 5 years of experience in Business Process Management or Project Management
  • At least 3 year of Risk Management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 6 years experience in Process Management
  • At least 4 years experience in Project Delivery
  • BPM Certification
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • PMP certification or Certified Scrum Master certification
