About the role:

The life cycle of an Avanade project runs all the way from planning to sales through to execution and closure, with many stops in between. As part of a global delivery team you:

  • Ensure projects are all delivered on time, on budget (fiscal management) and to the highest quality

IT Group Description

The Audit Response Team manages audit response for Technology and Operations for the major audits such as SOC1 and SOX. The Team advise Control Owners on how to construct control language suitable for testing by auditors and perform proactive testing/control assurance to identify and remediate defects. We are seeking a San Antonio based Technology Project and Risk Manager to join our Audit Management/Compliance team in Global Technology and Operations.

Describe The Role

The candidate will join a team responsible for audit guidance and response Global Technology. The candidate will act as a subject matter expert on the domains of Change Management, System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Security/Access Controls, continuously assessing our existing controls against current and emerging threats and industry best practices and making recommendations to ensure the protection of our firm and our customers.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Risk Control Matrices for ITGCs, particularly with regard to global regulation and upstream dependencies
  • Develop, report and pursue metrics to represent the performance of the Change Management, SDLC and Security/Access Control programs
  • Training/Outreach to Technical Owners/Developers on the control programs
  • Assist in carrying out/back up coverage for QRR/TARR/SODA
  • Provide audit evidence and response. Review, research, and approve audit responses
  • Privacy officer for Technology and Operations
  • Due diligence for RFPs and current clients as needed

Must know how to be a good partner to developers in order to create applications that are used throughout the firm.

The Role

Reporting to the VP of Field Business Operations, this role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing activities and initiatives that have broad organizational impact on field operations. This includes initiatives related to driving operational excellence, improving customer and employee experiences and enabling revenue growth. This individual will partner with the VP to identify the areas they must direct their focus and help streamline activities.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, and manage communication strategies for Field Business Operations
    • Define and execute direct and extended staff meeting agendas. This includes cadence of town halls, all hands meetings, management meetings, 1 on 1 reviews, and operation reviews.
    • Prepare Executive and External presentations.
    • Oversee generation and publication of content to inform internal audiences at all levels as well as external audiences.
  • Contribute to the direction and execution of people planning
    • Coordinate and manage organizational goals & objectives
    • Coordinate employee recognition, communication and culture efforts
    • Lead department efforts to define and manage skills transformation needs.
    • Work with centralized teams in HR Learning & Development, Corporate Communications, and others to implement people strategies
  • Spearhead other cross-functional teams as needed
    • Identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities.
    • Collaborate with peers throughout the company, share best practices and implement new ideas and initiatives where appropriate.
    • Engage key stakeholders and cross-functional teams outside of Field Business Operations to achieve corporate and organizational goals.
    • Ensure execution and improvement of key transformation results
  • Oversee management of departmental budgets; identify innovative ways to maximize benefits for resource investment. May require oversight of vendor relationships.

The Project Manager II has proven experience managing complex IT projects using both traditional project management approaches and Agile methodologies, with the understanding that the approach varies based on the project and circumstances. This position requires professional maturity and flexibility in approach to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and that they meet project goals and Consumer Cellular expectations as defined by the documented scope, schedule, milestones and success criteria. The PM II must be a credible and effective communicator, successful in building relationships and rapport across all levels of the organization. This role will interface directly with internal resources, vendors, and partners, and requires the management of resources and activities to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Manages IT operations, infrastructure, software development, and/or telephony projects
  • Develops project plans, goals, and budgets; identifying resources needed
  • Develops schedules and methods for measuring results
  • Guides and performs strategic analysis for the project
  • Organizes and manages all phases of the project to ensure on-time completion
  • Assembles and coordinates project team members; assigning individual responsibilities
  • Plans and oversees the preparation and dissemination of project communications
  • Leads issue identification, tracking, escalation and resolution
  • Monitors risk events before becoming issues and potential roadblocks
  • Works with plan and task owners to create and update status and task reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education and experience
  • PMP strongly preferred; Scrum Master or Agile certification preferred – or ability to obtain within one year of hire
  • 6+ years of IT project management experience in a highly collaborative IT environment required, including a minimum of 4 years of experience leading the planning and management of all sizes of infrastructure, network, cloud, datacenter, SaaS, software development and IT/IS support projects
  • Experience in Project Portfolio Management methodology
  • Proficiency with project management tools, such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint and Smartsheet
  • Experience in IT release planning, change management, and coordination of release activities required
  • Some experience with SQL server and Microsoft Azure technologies preferred.
  • Strong problem-resolution and analytical skills required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
