The Program Manager is responsible for the development and ongoing management of one or more multi-year external client facing programs within a business unit. Program managers typically support business strategies through an integrated portfolio of external client facing projects or initiatives. A program manager may have responsibility for a piece of a larger enterprise/regional external client facing program.

Primary Duties May Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Manages and coordinates the development, approval, implementation, and compliance of on-going external client facing programs; develops program budget; ensures program meets its stated objectives; provides subject matter expertise in response to day to day external client facing business issues.
  • Researches applicable subject matter practices and remains aware of industry trends.
  • Manages external client facing relationships and partners with corporate and regional business areas.
  • Coordinates training related to external client facing program; develops program success measures and performs periodic assessments of program success.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS degree; 5-7 years of external client facing experience in program/project management; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Graduate degree preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Project management certification preferred.

Operation Support (vendor, provider, contract & claims) strongly preferred

General Purpose

The Stroke Program Manager provides direction and oversight of the Comprehensive Stroke Center program. This position will ensure the delivery of a quality program based on best practices and clinical evidence. This position will serve as a key liaison between physicians, stroke team, clinical nurses, rehabilitation, home care, and hospitals in region. Responsible for managing care across the continuum, driving patient outcomes including length of stay, readmission rates, and other internal processes.

Essential Duties

  • Provide leadership role in the design, implementation and integration of strategies and programs.
  • Responsible for the management of the Comprehensive Stroke Center accreditation requirements, as defined by the Joint Commission.
  • Ensures and maintains quality and regulatory compliance of the overall stroke program across the organization providing education and development opportunities for staff.
  • Oversees implementation and provides daily oversight of the telestroke program.
  • Provide clinical and system expertise, and develop and monitor quality scorecard.
  • Develop and enhance the knowledge and skills of providers and caregivers to improve care for the stroke patients to drive performance driven metrics
  • Build internal and external relationships / partners to promote system efficiency.
  • Create and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with providers associated with stroke programs.
  • Leads outreach seminars and education as necessary with Stroke Nursing Practice Specialist.
  • Ensure quality of care is delivered throughout the continuum for the stroke patient.
  • Collaborate with Director, Medical Director(s), neurologists, residents and clinical stroke team, Stroke Nursing. Practice Specialist to execute strategies and goals for Sparrow Stroke Program.
  • Participate in planning and implementation of marketing strategies with Sparrow marketing and leadership team.
  • Involved with promoting program growth and development, patient acquisition, community events, and other outreach activities.
  • Oversee overall patient and family education. Ensure education materials are evidenced based.
  • Provide regular in-services for nurses and support staff. Also, will provide individual education with nursing/clinical staff as needed.
  • Facilitate and participate in stroke multi-disciplinary team meetings.
  • Provide leadership to staff that is consistent with quality care, patient satisfaction, safety, and outcomes.
  • Recommend, establish, and implement policies, procedures and protocols for the stroke program.
  • Track and monitor patient outcomes and report quarterly outcomes.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities.
  • Provide direct supervision over Stroke Nursing Practice Specialist.
  • Work collaboratively with SHS Neuroscience Service Line Leadership on program development, process improvement, and other growth initiatives.

Job Requirements

General Requirements Current State of Michigan RN license, Michigan Nurse Practitioner license or CNS license BLS Certified Lean and/or Six Sigma, Stroke related certification preferred

Preferred

Work Experience Teaching/education experience preferred QI/PI/EBP project experience preferred

Education BSN with a minimum of 2 years of stroke program leadership experience OR CNS, MSN, or DNP

Specialized Knowledge and Skills Excellent organizational skills Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills Program development and Program management skills along with data analytics Excellent leadership skills

Job Description

The Nursing Project Manager is primarily responsible for the successful planning and execution of multiple clinical projects to achieve the organization’s strategic objectives. The Nursing Project Manager is a specialist in project management and change management in addition to bringing a strong clinical background to the position . Education

Experience

Three to five years of varied clinical experience with healthcare management experience. Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing and evaluating performance improvement projects.

Experience/Experience

  • 5+ years of business and/or technology related project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing programs or complex projects involving multiple projects and oversight of multiple project managers.
  • Experience with development and reporting of project costs, and project financial analysis. Working Knowledge of various system development lifecycle methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.
  • Adept at using documentation tools including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio and industry standard project management tools.

License/Certification

Lean Six Sigma certified at various levels of expertise (Yellow, Green, Black or Master Black Belt) preferred. Project management certification in related industry preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to determine healthcare staffing needs, and promptly fill open positions with exceptional healthcare staff
  • Partner with Aya Healthcare internal staff to manage and fill open positions with highly qualified candidates, maintaining strong relationships and communicating changes in hospital needs and requirements
  • Ensure effective and thorough onboarding of travelers and other healthcare staff
  • Meticulous data entry of each new hire's pertinent information, ensuring seamless timekeeping and payroll
  • Respond to service requests, inquiries and concerns promptly and graciously, with a client-centered mentality and appropriate discretion, as needed

Required Qualifications:
