This role is in support of Transformation for Mortgage and Vehicle Servicing Operations (MVSO) organization. Role will be focused on high impact cross functional initiatives that deliver business outcomes, driving execution of Operational Excellence (OpEx) transformation work for medium to large scale projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading multiple projects and priorities at the same time, including process or project analysis and assessments, managing all deliverables, process or project materials, communications, oversight of necessary training and employee readiness needs for process only or technology change efforts.
  • Facilitates across multiple areas (business, operations, technology, key partners) to drive critical change initiatives.
  • Oversees analysis of current-state and development of future-state to facilitate implementation.
  • Integrates knowledge of end to end business process into program planning and decisioning processes.
  • Working independently, using process excellence expertise and proven demonstration of strategic thinking and tactical planning with an ability to turn complex ideas into well-structured processes.

  • Demonstrated PowerPoint presentation skills and ability to target messaging to different audiences
  • Proven experience with managing stakeholders and ability to communicate effectively and influence decisions to achieve desired results
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) and active listening skills
  • Must be proficient in data management to include strong data analytic capability
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to handle multiple tasks to meet extremely compressed deadlines
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, determined and positive – especially under pressure
  • Ability to navigate enterprise, research and resource information across the bank

About the Role:

The Treasury Services Division organization of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking an experienced SAFe Scrum Master to join our team. This is a highly challenging role focused on change management, process improvement and Agile/SAFe transformation. The individual must have a proven track record of supporting highly complex information technology projects through cross-functional teams using an Agile/SAFe methodology. This position is looking for a leader that can enable the team to work as effectively as possible and delivery priorities identified by the product owner. Responsible for enacting Scrum principles and methodologies as the Scrum Master on projects and programs in partnership with other Scrum Masters, the Development Team, the Product Owner, and business/technology Leadership. Assists in removing roadblocks and issues that slow down the team’s progress, while guiding the team to improve their processes and practices. The day-to-day role will be dynamic, addressing multiple customer priorities. The successful candidate will be a part of the Financing Modernization Project Management team of Scrum Masters, Program Manager, and Release Train Engineer.

As a Scrum Master you will:

  • Enacts Scrum principles and methodologies as the Scrum Master (SM) on projects and programs in partnership with other SMs, the Development Team, the Product Owner, and Project Leadership.
  • Reports to, advises, and works closely with, multiple project sponsors across business lines, the System, and/or the Treasury. Nature of interaction includes facilitating, directing and influencing project teams, and building, navigating, and maintaining collaborative stakeholder, customer, vendor, and contractor relationships. May routinely interact and build relationships with senior executives. Typically requires interaction with various governing bodies throughout the System and/or Treasury.
  • Ensures adherence to Agile/Scrum values, principles, and practices.
  • Collaborates with other SMs within the project to identify dependencies, manage conflicts, and drive success of individual sprints as well as the overall project.

  • Finds techniques for effective Product Backlog management by leading the team through long-term roadmap exercises, forecasting long-term project deliverables.
  • Ensures the Product Owner knows how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize value.
  • Leads and coaches the organization in Agile/Scrum.
  • Plans Scrum implementations within the organization.
  • Assists employees and stakeholders with implementing Agile/Scrum and empirical product development.
  • Leads change that increases the productivity of the team and ensures delivery of valuable products.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree specializing in computer science, project management, business administration, or information technology from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and/or other related certifications preferred. Intermediate understanding of subject.
  • Performs most work independently with general supervision and direction. May consult with management or more senior staff in decision-making.
  • Incumbent must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless the Bank grants an accommodation based on a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.
  • United States citizenship is required for this position.
