What You'll Do

The Agile Coach is responsible for designing and executing a plan for the adoption of Agile (Domain-wide/enterprise-wide) and fostering teams and cultures practicing Agile, to sustaining Agile methodologies and continually offering strategies for improvement. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned coach who has worked with teams at all levels and used techniques that increase collaboration, predictability, transparency and will have experience scaling large teams utilizing SAFe, Automation processes and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Educate various roles and levels of people on Agile principles, provide training sessions and teach skills that lead towards organization-wide adoption of Agile methodologies.
  • Guide teams into Agile methodology, coaching 4-6 Agile teams simultaneously with in-depth guidance on the roles, rituals, and artifacts of Agile teams and organization units.
  • Provide team members with feedback and means of improvement and answering questions.
  • Provide hands-on support to employees, collaborating with people across widely varying levels and roles including Product Owners, Dev-ops teams, and development teams.
  • Work with stakeholders to drive improvements in agile maturity while demonstrating quantifiable progress towards achieving higher performing teams and improved business outcomes.
  • Become a trusted business advisor that interacts/educates the business on Agile Principles.

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience on an Agile team (i.e. Product Owner, Scrum Master)
  • 7+ years of leadership experience
  • 5+ years as an active Agile Coach
  • 3+ years of experience implementing scaled Agile transformation in a complex, silo-driven environment

Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience coaching and developing a team
  • 3+ years of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) experience
  • Experience of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) experience or exposure to any other scaling principles
  • 4+ years of financial services industry experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders
  • Ability to drive and lead organizational change in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
  • A Master's degree or higher

Other Desired Qualifications

  • 5+ years as an active Agile Coach (ICAgile Certified Professional) in an environment with multiple Scrum teams
  • 7+ years of experience leading an Agile team (i.e. Product Owner, Scrum Master)
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile tools/software like Jira and Confluence
  • Ability to connect the dots across process, people, and technology
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail

The New Business Initiative Assessment (NBIA) is a holistic, structured business assessment process for new business initiatives within Texas Capital Bank (TCB). The NBIA process ensures appropriate risk stakeholders and subject matter experts are engaged to assist the initiative owner through the identification and management of risks posed to TCB with the initiative. This process also allows functional stakeholders / subject matter experts to provide their approval with or without conditions prior to implementation. Overall, the NBIA process facilitates early engagement leading to a stronger consideration of risks and a faster time to market. The NBIA Program Owner will be responsible for managing all aspects of the NBIA program.

Responsibilities

The NBIA Program Owner will specifically be responsible for the following:

Program Monitoring, Reporting, and Prioritization

  • Drive and develop material for meetings with executive management to determine bank-wide investment approval, tracking, and major project prioritization
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the program and adherence to the program’s requirements across TCB’s segments and products. This includes reviewing and improving current key performance indicators and reports where needed.
  • Routinely collect and gather feedback on the program from key stakeholders, develop recommendations to strengthen the program, and drives the implementation of improvements efforts agreed.

Training

  • Provide trainings on the NBIA process to product / initiative owners and other key stakeholders across TCB.
  • Manage training material and the monitoring of the attendance and effectiveness of the training program.

Engagement and Triage

  • Monitor the effectiveness of NBIA engagement / trigger points.
  • Review new NBIA forms to ensure they have been adequately completed and are assigned in a timely fashion to the relevant risk business partner.
  • Ensure the process drives a consistent categorization of NBIAs (which drives the level of effort base on their importance).
  • Monitor aging draft NBIAs to ensure they are either cancelled or submitted in a timely fashion.
  • Monitor NBIA for relevant and sufficient information. Follow-up and retrain as necessary.
  • Proactively manage individual NBIAs through the pipeline

Approver Groups

  • Collaborate with NBIA approver groups (for instance, Executive Committee, Legal, Data Privacy, Compliance, Cybersecurity or Client Support Services) to identify new points of contact and approvers as employees move to new positions.
  • Work with all stakeholder groups to maintain and monitor SLAs for their respective organizations. This includes managing the escalation of NBIAs not reviewed within the required timeframes.
  • Drive the consistency and quality of the feedback provided by approver groups.
  • Periodically touch-base with approver groups to ensure they have a clear view of their NBIA queues and to discuss and address any specific or systemic difficulties.

Quality Assurance

  • Manage quality assurance program over the NBIA process to assess the quality of specific NBIAs and their adherence to the program s requirements.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement solutions to address root causes of recurring deficiencies noted through these QA efforts.

Tools Administration and Support

  • Serve as the business owner of the applications supporting the NBIA process and drive the evolution of these tools through the definition and prioritization of future requirements (based on required process improvements, stakeholder feedback, etc.)
  • Work with the Technology group to address operational / functionality issues and implement new requirements.
  • Drive access management requirements and processes for these tools in compliance with TCB’s information security policy.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience in one or several of the following areas: Financial Services industry, risk management, project / program management, product management, or consulting.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Demonstrated program / project management experience with excellent communication, organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Preferred strong data analysis skills and strong knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques including Excel and / or Power BI.
  • Excellent verbal communication, presentation, collaboration and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to gain trust, secure buy-in and influence change at all levels. An ability to influence without direct authority, as well as demonstrating an appropriate level of assertiveness, is critical.
  • Strong ability to present to large and executive-level audiences.
  • Highly developed analytical, strategic-thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly within a multi-tasking environment and simultaneously manage multiple issues and projects with limited resources.
  • High attention to detail and quality for all work products.
  • Ability to travel approximately 5% - 10%.

Department Overview

The Senior Agile Coach provides hands-on support, recommendations and guidance across Agile teams notably through executive, delivery leadership and team training. Regularly assesses and calibrates team Agile fluency leveraging the enterprise framework. Role is considered the topmost Agile expert within a key business segment or as part of an enterprise CoE whose focus is primarily on the coaching aspects of Agile Methodology to be leveraged across various businesses and respective Agile teams. The Coach jobs inform the Agile method at TD and educate stakeholders on their role in the Agile operating model, as well as the business value the Agile method provides. The ultimate goal of the coach role is to bring agile teams to a level of maturity/capability such that the coach is no longer required by the team.

About The Opportunity

The SAS Department has an immediate opening for a Scrum Master, reporting to the Senior Manager.

This role provides support for our external customer testing team across an array of testing campaigns, ensuring the safety and integrity of the service. The ideal candidate will be an integral member of a high performing team and adept at working across a multitude of teams.

What You Will Do:

  • Oversees the agile process and provides mentoring on agile concepts/methodologies like Scrum/KanBan/ScrumBan/etc..
  • Provides team one-on-one coaching to “build the product efficiently”. Accountable for the “when” associated with product delivery.
  • Integrates cross-team dependencies with FRFS, Tech Forward, and National IT scrum masters.
  • Conducts daily stand-ups for the Wholesale Testing Services DIT and Customer Testing teams, as well as the Testing RBC work streams to ensure teams are focused on the highest priority delivery and impediment resolution.
  • Responsible for task tracking, backlog management, and providing input to roadmap(s) for the services provided by the teams.
  • Develops metrics to measure throughput and cycle times for work delivered by the teams.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of experience as a scrum master or project manager supporting the delivery of a product
  • Prior experience working with Kanban for managing workflow and proficient in Agile methodologies required
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, creativity, attention to detail, and oral and written communications skills tailored for the intended audience. Ability to influence others, motivate and inspire the team, and drive results.
  • Desire to work in a team and provide services and support to enable others to provide outstanding customer service. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP and/or other Agile related certifications required.
  • Experience working with agile tracking products such as Jira, MS Planner, VersionOne, or similar products.

CUSTOMER:

  • Engages executive sponsor to ensure active participation on project initiatives
  • Engages appropriate stakeholders to identify and manage required outcomes of projects for the business
  • Establishes effective project oversight and other governance bodies, and engages the correct levels to support the direction for the project
  • Provides on-going communication to key stakeholders, including the Project Sponsor, Business Project Owner, Program Manager and Portfolio Manager to ensure they are aware of significant changes to the project status in a timely manner
  • Responds to inquiries and escalates concerns from stakeholders at all levels in the organization (technical, business, Senior and Executive Management)

  • Accurately forecasts and manages assigned budget and provides monthly financial reporting for projects, in alignment with Finance standards
  • Assists with overall program and / or portfolio financial reporting by providing input into the process
  • Facilitates financial planning process as part of project planning and scoping for projects
  • Provides project reporting, including technology spend, and ad-hoc analysis and presents issues requiring attention by senior management. Escalates issues, as required
  • Identifies discrepancies between financial forecasts and actuals and escalates material discrepancies and adjusts scope, schedule or budget as appropriate
  • Manages resource and capacity management process for assigned projects
  • Ensures the project benefits realization process is followed throughout the life of the project
  • Supports vendor management and strategic sourcing process, managing RFP activities and partnering with vendor(s) to ensure efficient and effective project delivery
  • Works in close partnership with Finance and key stakeholders for monthly reporting requirements (i.e., Finance, Status, Issues Management)
  • Ensure the project spending approval policy is followed
  • Closes project spending accounts upon project closure

  • Indirectly manages a cross LoB Project team consisting of Business Analysts, Requirements SMEs, Business SMEs and Technology
  • Resources where applicable to the project
  • Provides advice and counsel to project team and business partners
  • Liaises with external vendors and consultants as required
  • Coaches, leads and mentors project team members and provides regular performance assessments to employees and their people managers
  • Supports effective on boarding and off boarding of project resources
  • Effectively manages project resources and external contractors / consultants in coordination of competing priorities
  • Educates project team members on governance process and facilitates related sessions
  • Leverages the creativity and experience of project team members to solve issues as they arise
  • Develops an understanding of the technical / business aspects of the project in order to effectively manage the project and resources
  • Works effectively in teams by being driven to win for the TD team, working well with diverse teams
  • Manages the project team, stakeholders and key project deliverables
  • Shares project experiences and learning with project management team and PMO peers
