How will you make an impact?

The Scientific Project Manager role sits in the Bioproduction Group, supporting Cell Culture and Cell Therapy business units and is responsible for supporting GIBCO custom media.

In this role you will be applying knowledge of Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology or Biomedical engineering, to assess the feasibility of custom cell culture media / buffers, the Project Manager will support the design, implementation and maintenance of a custom media quoting tool.

Using traditional Project Management skills to lead cross-functional teams in the management of BioProduction custom projects, the Project Manager will build strong cross-functional relationships and create customer loyalty through well-managed experiences with CEO team members and processes.

What will you do?

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of a program to support quoting of Custom products across global regions.
  • Complete preliminary feasibility assessments on Cell Culture Media and buffer formulations
  • Implement PPI to improve turn-around times and stream-line internal processes.
  • Responsible for defining project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with key stake holders
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks

  • Must have experience of working in a cGMP environment – essential
  • Project Management experience participating in cross-functional project teams – essential
  • Requires a BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology/Biomedical engineering, or other related discipline with the equivalent knowledge and experience – essential
  • Technical knowledge of the biotech industry and the “biological” drug development process - preferred
  • A solid understanding of cell culture media and buffer manufacturing processes – preferred
  • Professional Project Management certification – preferred
  • Customer facing experience - preferred
  • Must be a good team player and an effective communicator
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

This role will be based remotely in the Mebane, NC area. There is a brand new LPD (Laboratory Products Division) plastics site being built in Mebane, NC. Ideally, we'd like someone that is local to this area and can travel to the area as needed.

How will you make an impact?

In this role you will lead large business changing projects for Global Operations across the Life Sciences and Laboratory Products Group (LSLPG) for products that enables our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. Reporting to the Program Manager, BTO, this includes responsibility for all phases of assigned projects (initiating/due diligence, planning, implementation, and control). The role will enable Company growth through new site expansion, product line transfers, and creation of more efficient operational strategies. The role will use in-depth project management and influencing skills to help support divisional and global operations long range strategies.

You will work with all levels of the organization and will demonstrate strong communication and influencing skills, while showing your abilities to build strong positive relationships to influence the team to deliver important results for our customers using excellence in project management execution.

How will you make an impact?

The Senior Staff Project Manager (PM) will provide end to end project, program, and portfolio management leadership (concept to completion) through the BioProduction Strategic Project and Portfolio Management Team, fully owning the mechanisms which ensure successful delivery. The PM will lead cross-functional projects, programs, and portfolios with diverse internal teams ranging from Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management, Finance, Engineering, Information Technology, Human Resources, and Customer Excellence to meet business objectives and metrics. In this role, the PM will partner with Executive Sponsors to drive the execution of key strategic initiatives that span across the BioProduction group, divisions, and business units. The successful PM will set-up and supervise the overall schedule, communicate decision needs, control the budget, and monitor and report the progress of phases and achievement of milestones.

  • Define requirements and specifications hand-in hand with scientists, engineers and external contractors through development, validation, documentation and release of products via stage-gate process
  • Provide leadership and problem-solving for multi-faceted, cross-functional Product Management, Marketing, and Research & Development teams
  • Provide expertise in project planning and timeline development & management; develop a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of project following a logical pattern for utilization of resources
  • Conduct appropriate project risk assessments and define mitigation plans
  • Report to stakeholders and upper management about progress and any necessary modifications of plans
  • Build, develop, and maintain crucial internal relationships with Design, Program Management, Distribution, Operations, and Procurement to ensure smooth go-to-market plan

Experience
